The foldable iPhone is here – and boy, is it expensive
I’m definitely not the only person to notice that Apple has launched two products this year that pay mock tribute to some of Microsoft’s most high-profile failures. First the MacBook Neo laptop, and this week, at their HQ in California, the iPhone Duo foldable phone. Microsoft’s own Neo and Duo – both dual-screen smartphones – were highly anticipated flops. This can’t be a coincidence, right?
It’s bold of Apple to name their first-ever folding phone after a disastrous rival product, especially given the jaw-dropping £2,000 price tag. But Phones Editor Ben Johnston was up late Wednesday night watching the reveal, and he came away largely positive about Apple’s typically thorough approach to a new product line.
Apple dominates today’s newsletter, as we recap everything announced at the event on Wednesday – the new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max (no basic 18 here); Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4; and AirPods 5 ANC in-ear buds.
But I’ve also got a couple more reviews to round out the week: the unusual and remarkable Secretlab Atlas office/gaming chair – tested by yours truly – and the Sennheiser Accentum Clip, an equally unusual pair of open-fit earbuds.

We independently review everything we recommend. When you purchase through our links, we may earn a commission.
